We cross-reference the conference's claimed proceedings or journal ISSN/ISBN against the official Scopus source list and the Web of Science Master Journal List. Simply claiming "Scopus indexed" on a homepage is not enough — the specific proceedings or journal must appear in those lists. Many unverified conferences display the Scopus logo or claim indexing for some previous year of proceedings, while the current year's proceedings are not indexed. Our engine checks both the claim and the verifiability of that specific event.

The Trust Index is the weighted sum of all 18 audit checks:

• 35–59 Suspicious — Several concerns identified. Manual verification recommended.
• 60–69 Verified — Passes basic checks. Some transparency gaps remain.
• 70–89 Safe Gold — Strong signals of legitimacy. Recommended.
• 90–100 Platinum — Exceptional transparency and credentials.

• PASS — The check found clear positive evidence.
• FAIL — The check found a clear red flag or information was absent.
• NEUTRAL — Inconclusive from available data. Always manually verify these before submitting.
